Friends of St. Boniface & Holy Family
The Friends number 40 plus parishioners and is the largest group in the Parish.
Formed in 2018 by Pam Pemberton (St. Boniface) and Margaret Haxton (Holy Family). They are the social and fund raising arm of the Parish. There are no committee meetings as there is no committee. The Friends are a group of people who are willing and able to jump in and offer their time /skills as and when needed to any listed member who has a social or fundraising idea. The more Friends on the list the easier the tasks become.
The Friends are The Parish, answerable only to our Parish Priest not to any other organisational body.
In 2022/2023 The Friends organised and hosted the Deanery Lunch, orchestrated the Parish Facebook Page, assisted with the new website, organised and project managed the decoration and refurbishment of the church, played a major part in The Centenary Celebrations, helped with The Filipino and Indian Evenings, organised the Christmas Raffle, the Church Flower arrangements for Christmas and Easter Celebrations, and organised the Parish Lunch. One member in particular has looked after a part of the Parish grounds for several years and now more Friends are helping. The Friends are currently running the Boot Fairs from April until September 2023.
It is appropriate that the Friends are so named – after all we are all friends of Jesus privileged to be doing his work in our different roles.
